Code of Ethics

1. Professional/Public Trust
  • Must understand that commitment is to the public.
  • There is an obligation to reflect and accept diversity within the community.
  • Obligation to protect all personal business of the public.
2. Confidentiality
  • The discussions and meetings held remains confidential.
  • Signed documentation represents all proof of face to face consultation.
3. Fairness
  • Staff members are required to present information fairly and impartially
  • Treat all of those involved within the segments with respect and dignity.
  • Any production done with crime involved, a form of compassion should be shown.
  • Report on professional perspective and not personal bias.
4.Quality over Quantity
  • Staff members will not be hasty when it comes to a project.
  • The outcome/quality of projects are more important than producing mass amounts.
  • Although quality is being emphasized, a certain number of productions still needs to happen weekly.
5. Accountability
  • Staff must recognize that they are responsible for their actions. NO ONE else is responsible for YOU!
  • Follow and adhere to all standards of journalism.
  • Investigate complaints and correct any errors in a timely manner.
  • Seek for support and training in ethical matters for all employees
  • On and off duty, staff should still conduct behavior following the code of conduct.
6. Integrity
  • Staff is responsible for presenting information with decency, and avoid any forms of conflict by always using respect.
  • Identify sources in order to keep credibility.
  • Always keep public aware of certain knowledge ( never lead them in the dark).
  • Violence is not needed.
7. Independence
  • Staff must have enough knowledge to work by oneself
  • Understand the media management of ones company
  • Know the ethical standards for a journalist/videographer
8. Truth
  • It is ethical to always remain truthful.
  • Staff is expected to always tell the truth no matter if it will cause them consequences.
  • All video must be FACTUAL!
9. Hygiene/Dress Code
  • Staff members are expected to maintain their personal hygiene ( hair, clean clothes, no odors).
  • Staff must avoid tight clothing and stick more to a business casual look.
  • Clothes are expected to be wrinkled free and not revealing.
  • No open toe shoes.
  • PLEASE dress as if you were going on a job interview.
